It was a profound privilege to be invited into the home of Holocaust survivor Rena Quint to hear her story.
We are truly grateful that Rena allowed us to record her story for a special episode of the Kore Podcast Al Regal Ahat for Yom HaShoah 2023.
Rena was born in Freida Lichtenstein in Pietrokow, Poland in 1936. By age 3 she was imprisoned in the Pietrokow Ghetto and by age 6 was a prisoner in Bergen-Belsen. It was thanks to the women she has come to call her many mothers that she was able to survive, was brought to New York, and eventually adopted by Jacob and Leah Globe.
Now the mother of 4 children, grandmother to 22, and great-grandmother to (as of two weeks ago) 44. Rena lives in Jerusalem and tells her story to thousands every year.
Rena's book A Daughter of Many Mothers: Her Horrific Childhood and Wonderful Life tells her story and how she came to find evidence of the life she only suspected she had.
